It’s been such a lazy Sunday that I almost forgot about my promise to share this lookbook with you. When the stress and busy bustle becomes too much for me, I cocoon myself in a blanket to binge-watch various television series. It’s basically my guilty pleasure to be in my own company and do whatever I feel like doing.
By some coincidental turn of events, this outfit is most befitting of the very same “lazy Sunday” sentiment. If I had to go out for a night with the girls and I was dressing for style AND optimal comfort, this would be it: the ripped skinnies, the loose and flowy blouse, the biker/moto leather jacket. Even my shoes are relatively easy to prance around in, although I must confess that the Bo-kaap was rather tricky because of its steep terrain and cobblestone floors (pretty, but deadly)…
I find this kind of hilarious because a few years back, I would’ve immediately quoted Blair Waldorf, quoting her mother: “Fashion knows not of comfort…” Blah, Blah, Blah, I say.
I’ve grown to realise that fashion is nothing without style, and style is innate. If your inner “vogue angel” is not peaceful and sure of what she wants, she will fumble and cause your outer appearance to appear uneasy. Do you get any awkward vibes when you look at today’s fashion icons, like Gigi Hadid or Kendall Jenner, for example? Heavens, no! They exude confidence and that can only come after you have reached that level of being comfortable in your own skin AND clothing!
So, I do apologize for the Sunday sermon, but you should remember that I am one of those preachers who practice my word. And I must be on a roll, because I’m making good on that promise to deliver this outfit to you today 😉
