There are few things more exciting to me than breathing new life into the very domain that I spend most of my time in. As a commerce student, I understand the perils of hunching over tonnes of books, all the while seated on some rickety library chair all too well. At times, I often think to myself, ‘why do I have to do this tedious assignment?’ A dreary workspace truly does not make for a conducive studying environment!
Why must your work be viewed as this mundane, obligatory task? Work should really just be something to look forward to; imparting some value and meaning to your life. Of course, it doesn’t always end up this way, but at least there are a couple of things that you can do to gain more from your work experience.
In light of the above, I have decided to share with you my workspace wishlist, with five items selected from Superbalist’s beautiful Apartment store. As a first-time Superbalist app user, I will be getting R250 off my first purchase, so I really suggest you do the same! You can download the Superbalist app for free from the Apple or Android store, and take advantage of this promo when you make your first purchase.
With a revamped working area, not only will you feel more organised and comfortable, but you will also actually want to spend time there! No matter which way you choose to look at it, things can only get better (and more productive!) from here 🙂
#1. A tall, dark and handsome desk that doesn’t carelessly forget about your needs
The Ceuta console table from Superbalist’s Desks & Tables just might be the one I have been waiting for. This central piece of furniture adds a great deal of opulence to the workspace with its darker and more intense finish. Plus, I really can’t resist a thoughtful desk that takes care of my need for storage space.
Accessorise with gold, and you’ll be working in your very own palace.
#2. A study lamp that throws all kinds of shade
We all need a little bright spark of artificial light coming our way when the night has come, and the land is dark. Gone should be the days when we squint our eyes at our books, trying to make sense of it all. With this chic floor lamp standing by you, boundless are the late-night work opportunities! (see what I did there? No? Never mind…)
#3. A sturdy shelf to pick your books up when they are down
Organise your clutter into neatly decorated stacks with this minimalistic wedge shelf. Work has never looked this good, and you’ll be thanking yourself in no time!
#4. A sophisticated planter that reminds you to reap what you sow
Insert adorable baby succulents here please:
#5. A practical notebook to keep track of it all
Yes, I know – this is the iPhone age, and everybody just uses technology to remember stuff. I guess I will forever be one of those people who continue to scratch illegible reminders inside the covers of my books. Well, even if you strictly store your information on your PC, a book will always come in handy. Besides, how can you even resist this blush pink and dusky blue set of notebooks?!
