Just over a week ago I promised you that I would bring this romantic palazzo look to the blog. It’s amazing how much our lives can change in a matter of mere moments. Shortly after posting the sneak preview on Instagram, I was met with a piece of heart breaking news about my Grandfather’s passing on. To those of you who haven’t lost a parent or grandparent; the feeling can be likened to an extension of your life being wrenched off suddenly, and abruptly. Nobody can really prepare themselves for death. Death not only brings with it the inevitability of loss, but also the nauseating fact that you are aging, too. You now have responsibilities that you didn’t even know existed. And your life dynamic is changing so rapidly that you don’t get to notice the cushy rug being yanked out from beneath your feet. Sometimes death is the reality check that you weren’t ready to experience just yet.
Since hearing the news, things were pretty clear to me.I needed to take a break from my demanding ‘blogger’s schedule’ to be with my family and loved ones. This was an incredible decision that both facilitated a healthy mourning process, and also allowed me to clarify what I needed to do without any outside distractions. I would absolutely recommend taking at least a week off when things get rough or shady in your life. I understand that it can be difficult to reschedule, postpone, etc. without the added concern of seeming ‘unreliable’ – but darling, if your colleagues can’t understand that life can become tumultuous from time to time, maybe you should consider working with different people?!?
Looking forward, I feel revitalized and enthusiastic. I have so much of amazing content to publish very soon. As I say, “this website is the digital footprint of my adventures,” and conversely, sharing my life with you is only a part of who I am.
I still feel really sad that I had to say goodbye to somebody who I called family. It’s funny though, because I refuse to give up hope in the knowledge that everything is going to be more than okay. Sure, the path right now might be transitioning from straight to windy, steep and uphill. But I’m okay with this, as long as my character can learn some valuable lessons from it. And who knows? Maybe one day it will be I who lounges about, reminiscing fantastical life stories with grandchildren of my very own.

This look was inspired by the beautiful garden walkways in Paris. I love how wistful and alluring the pants appears against the soft, shimmery blouse. Palazzo pants are very chic and comfortable. They make me feel like a daring Katharine Hepburn!
